This scholarly event brought together eminent academics from various prestigious institutions to discuss the profound contributions of Kabir, Rabindranath Tagore, and the Chayavad movement in Hindi literature.</span></p> <p><br /><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">The event was organized by Prof. Manisha Shaw, whose efforts were instrumental in coordinating this significant academic gathering. Dr. Sukamal Dutta, Principal of Naba Ballygunge Mahavidyalaya, and Dr. Abus Sattar of the Bengali department also contributed to the event with their insightful thoughts, enriching the discussions further.</span></p> <p><br /><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">Prof. Rajshree Shukla from the University of Calcutta opened the session with a deep dive into the philosophies of Kabir, emphasizing the poet's role in shaping the spiritual and literary landscapes of India. Her talk highlighted Kabir's timeless relevance in the modern world.</span></p> <p><br /><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">Prof. Ved Raman Pandey from the Mahatma Gandhi Institute in Mauritius provided a comparative analysis of Kabir and Rabindranath Tagore, exploring the intersections of their thoughts on humanism, spirituality, and societal reform. His perspective from the Indian diaspora added a global dimension to the discussion.</span></p> <p><br /><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">Prof. Geeta Dubey of Scottish Church College focused on Rabindranath Tagore's literary genius, particularly his contributions to Bengali and Hindi literature. She examined how Tagore's works resonate with the themes of Chayavad, an influential literary movement in Hindi poetry.</span></p> <p><br /><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">Prof. Alpana Nayak from Sri Shikshayatan College offered an in-depth analysis of the Chayavad movement, linking its themes of mysticism, romanticism, and individualism to the works of Kabir and Tagore. Her presentation underscored the enduring influence of Chayavad on modern Hindi literature.</span></p> <p><br /><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">Prof. Sanjay Jaiswal from Vidyasagar University concluded the session with a discussion on the synthesis of these literary giants' contributions, emphasizing how their works collectively reflect the cultural and philosophical ethos of India.</span></p> <p><br /><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">The webinar provided a unique platform for cross-cultural and interdisciplinary dialogue, bringing together diverse perspectives on the works of Kabir, Rabindranath Tagore, and the Chayavad movement.
