Vision
The department focusesss on rigorous conceptual analysis and critical engagement with social, cultural and political issue. It aims to shape individuals who are not only well-versed in philosophical thought but are also capable of contributing meaningfully to society through their knowledge, skills and ethical understanding.
&nbsp;
Mission
The mission of the department is to provide high-quality education in Indian and Western Philosophy. This includes offering a diverse curriculum that covers classical, modern and contemporary works in both Indian and Western philosophy. The department is dedicated to creating an inclusive academic environment that stimulates intellectual curiosity, ethical values, critical thinking, reasoning and a yearning for lifelong learning. It seeks to prepare students for various career paths in academia, media, ethics, counselling, communication and so on.

Future Plans
&nbsp;
The students of the department participate in various activities of the college conducted by other departments,like seminars, debate,quiz and extempore. However the department is yet to organize its departmental seminar. The significant achievement of the department is the publication of the departmental magazine.
 
The future plan of the department for the next five year is:
1. Introducing Honours courses in Philosophy from the forthcoming session.
2. Participation in Faculty Development Programme to enrich knowledge and skill of the faculty member.
3. To give more emphasis on organizing seminars and workshop on their syllabus oriented topics and also out of syllabus for their total improvement of knowledge.
4. To make the students socially responsible by involving them in different kinds of activities such as NSS, etc.
5. Buying of books and reference for the department.
6. Organising counselling programmes and Mental Health Awareness Programmes in the college for the students.
7. To inspire and motivate students about the usefulness of learning Philosophy within and beyond the academic field-for the improvement of quality and whole vision of life.
8. To arrange for faculty exchange programme.
9. To arrange for more educational tour.
