And why Philosophy is said to delve beyond the realm of science, how the different branches of philosophy reveals an integrated overview of the world.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;"><strong>CO2-</strong> Helps the students to grasp the authentic knowledge, which must be true. Makes them classify what is to be consider as knowledge and what is not (understand knowledge both in the strong and weak sense). Helps them to critically grasp the different theories of knowledge.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;"><strong>CO3- </strong>Shapes their ethical perspective – to differentiate between good and bad, right and wrong, duty and virtue and so on. This knowledge caters to the basic spiritual thirst for knowledge in human beings. Human Rights:</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">The basic information </span><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">about the origin, development, justification of human rights helps the students to become aware of their own rights and realise the injustices and inequalities prevalent in the society.</span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: large;">B. Feminist Ethics:</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;"> The key concepts of Feminism like Sex, Gender, Sexism, Patriarchy all help the students to become aware of the existing gender problem and gender discrimination and they get to know about the feminist movement and it's different schools and their demands.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: large;">Semester-3</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: large;">Western Logic.</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">Provides the students with a basic understanding of the element , methods and rules of western logic.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">Helps students to enhance their logical thinking and reasoning skills.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: large;"><strong>Semester -3</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: large;"><strong>SEC-3: LOGICAL REASONING AND APPLICATION: INDIAN AND WESTERN</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">The basics of logical reasoning in both Indian Logic and Western logic helps the students to develop critical thinking, better decision-making, problem solving, better analytical skills.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: large;">Semester-4</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: large;">HISTORY OF WESTERN PHILOSOPHY:</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">The Pre Socratic philosophy informs the students about the nature of knowledge, the problem of one and many, de-mythologization of the Greek religion by shifting focus from the divinity to the elements and the universe.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;">It also helps them to become aware of the renowned Socratic method, Plato's political philosophy and Aristotelian logic.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;"> The course will also give them information about concepts like substance , matter, causality and so on from the perspectives of Rationalists like Descares , Spinoza , Leibnitz and Empiricist like Locke, Berkeley, Hume.</span></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><strong><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times;">PROGRAMME OUTCOME</span></strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><strong><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times;"><br /></span></strong></span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: large;">Philosophy Minor (CCF)</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: large;">After completion of the programme, students will be able to:</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;"><strong>PO1:</strong> Have an overall idea of Philosophy and what it deals with and its importance and its different branches especially epistemology, metaphysics and ethics.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family: "times new roman", times; font-size: medium;"><strong>PO2:</strong> The students are informed about the different schools of Indian philosophy and the concepts they deal with.
