ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Bengali established in 1985 has been nurtured by eminent Professors. Presently the Department offers undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes. The curriculam of CU, which we follow is designed to foster critical thinking and creative atmoshphere among the students. We organize many National and International seminars, symposiums, workshops on regular basis. Eminent academicians, writers, actors and media persons share their knowledge and skills share their skills and knowledge on these programmes. students are encouraged to particiapte different social activities organised by NSS, and in&nbsp; Inter college Cultural and Academic Competitions.&nbsp;&nbsp;
The Department also takes pride in the success rate of students in NET/SET Examination. The department is also very actively involved with our MOU colleges, and organise exchange programmes regularly.
The Department has been publishing an ISSN-2321-6409 peer reviewed journal "ICHCHEY" over twenty years. We have a Departmental Library and a Central Library (Knowledge Resourse Centre) having more than 3000 books and journals. Students also can use modern amenities like computer lab etc.
